In a recent JAMA essay, Feld recounts her decades-long hesitancy to sign up as an organ donor because of her traumatic experiences as a medical student on transplant service. Feld, now a registered donor, advocates better equipping students and physicians to be a resource on donation for patients and their families, and also to register as organ donors themselves.
