Veeraish “VC” Chauhan, MD, is a nephrologist practicing in Bradenton/Lakewood Ranch, Florida. After studying Environmental Health at the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, he completed his Internal Medicine and Nephrology training at Drexel University College of Medicine, Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. He spends his time between clinical practice, teaching medical students and residents, and research. His clinical interests lie in newer therapies to prevent kidney disease progression, and resistant hypertension management. He is big believer in the power of internet and social media in furthering “real-time” medical education. He believes that patients too need reliable tools to understand evidence-based medicine, in order to make informed choices. To that end, he writes a popular blog titled Demystifying Kidney Disease for the Average Joe! He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN), and the American College of Physicians (FACP). In his spare time, he loves to run, scuba dive, and play with his two kids.
