Barriers to Home Dialysis: An Interview
Developing strategies to improve home dialysis use requires a comprehensive understanding of barriers. In a study recently published in AJKD, Yuvaram N.V. Reddy and colleagues sought to identify the most important barriers to home dialysis use from the perspective of patients, care partners, and providers.
AJKDBlog’s Interviews Editor, Timothy Yau @Maximal_Change, sat down with Dr Reddy and Amber Pettis — who is both a coauthor and a patient — to chat about the importance of early and frequent education on home dialysis, and novel strategies to increase the uptake of home dialysis for patients with kidney disease.
