The risk of preeclampsia in patients with already established CKD is primary taken from case series. CKD is estimated to increase the risk of developing preeclampsia ~4 to 7 fold. Therefore, careful screening for preeclampsia in patients with CKD is paramount to reduce adverse risk to the mother and fetus.
