Pregnancy in patients with ESRD while on renal replacement therapy was once a feared event that carried significant mortality for both the mom and fetus. Recently, a shift towards placing pregnant patients with ESRD on daily dialysis to reduce fluid shifts and enhance clearance has improved these outcomes. However, pregnancy while being on dialysis is still an exceedingly high-risk pregnancy that carries significant risk.
