Medicine 2.0 (2012): Smart phone dermatologist

Excellent combination of hardware, software and service to diagnose skin lesions. Borve, a medical doctor is working with a team that have developed an iPhone based dermatopathology system. The hardware is a sled that snaps onto an iPhone. It integrates a 20x microscope lens and led lights right over the iPhone camera. A physician then uses the software to take a picture of a lesion and send it to the a dermatopathologist. The pathologist looks at the picture and gives a diagnosis and plan of care.  We can learn from other specialty fields on how they are creating such apps to help patient care.
