#NephMadness 2020: An Update
Dear NephMadness Community,
When we started planning NephMadness 2020 in July of last year, we had no idea that a pandemic would be upon us as we got closer to launching the 8th edition on March 13. Now that the tournament is live, we need to tweak a few things to better respond to your needs as we all deal with the current public health crisis.
- We will be extending the bracket submission deadline to Thursday, April 30.
- The final bracket and results will be revealed the next day, on Friday, May 1. We will not be sending email notifications about results so that you can focus on essential emails. [April 30 Update to Results Announcements: Saturated 16 on May 1, Effluent 8 and Filtered 4 on May 4, Left-Right Kidney and Champion on May 5].
- We strongly encourage safe social distancing for group participation of NephMadness; if possible, please use online conferences to facilitate group discussion.
NephMadness has always been focused on fun, learning, and connecting people, and we hope that the education content will serve as a valuable resource (or distraction) during this stressful time.
As a reminder, although NephMadness will end on May 1 May 5, US physicians can claim CME and MOC until June 13, and the educational content will be available on the AJKD Blog permanently.
We trust that you are all taking the proper precautions to care for yourself, your family, and your patients, and hope that we can all celebrate NephMadness as usual in 2021.
Wishing you all the best,
The NephMadness Executive Team (Anna Burgner, Samira Farouk, Matthew Sparks, Joel Topf, and Timothy Yau)
