#NephMadness 2024 Champion: Gila Monster

Nephrons, we are ready to name the 2024 NephMadness Champion as voted by the Blue Ribbon Panel. Check out the Final Standings and tweet your reactions with #Nephmadness!

And as always, special thanks to Corina Teodosiu @CTeodosiu for the scoreboard graphics!

For the first time ever in NephMadness history, a team from the Animal House Region has won NephMadness. It was a decisive win over Team Pancreas-Kidney Transplant, representing the perennial favorite Kidney Transplant Region. Team Gila Monster comes through with the monster win!

Gila Monster wins 7-2

Comments from the BRP:

Well another tough choice. As much as I generally pick transplant because of its many strengths and moves, this year, Gila Monster and its emerging impressive defensive capabilities is my choice.”

“I initially voted against both of these in the first round! It’s “easy” to say the transplant option here, but transplantation in general is not for everyone, and SPKs certainly aren’t. GLP1 drugs have the potential to benefit far more patients over a longer period, and so their venomous progenitor gets my vote for champion.”

“Nature is incredible and humans keep discovering it!”

Winners will be announced later this week!
