What happens when the counter hits zero?
When the countdown timer expires at noon on Sunday, you will no longer be able to submit a bracket. But, the contest doesn’t end at that time. The Madness is only beginning.
Here is what to expect after the brackets close on Sunday:
Two hours after the brackets close the first round results will be posted at Tourneytopia. Instantly every entry will be scored and sorted from highest points to lowest based on how everyone matches up to the blue-ribbon panel. An e-mail will go out with the updated standings and it will tell you where you stand in the pack. Also at this time AJKDblog will post explanations and summaries of all the results.
Then on Wednesday March 25 we do it all again when we announce the Sweet Sixteen:
- Updated brackets at Tourneytopia
- Updated standings
- E-mail to all of the players
- Commentary at AJKDblog
Then on Sunday March 29, we narrow the field to the Elite Eight. These are the regional winners. Which concept wins critical care, cardiology, oncology, etc…
On Wednesday, April 1 the Final Four debuts. One of the features that Tourneytopia provides is “What if scenarios” which allows you to see who will win the loot depending on the outcome of the final three matches.
On Saturday April 4 we will announce the winning concepts that advance to the championship match with the winner announced on April 7.
A lot of NephMadness action begins on Sunday when the bracket entry period closes, but it will only be fun if you have some chips in the game. Go register and fill out your NephMadness brackets.
