Susan Gurley
Susan B. Gurley is Division Head for Nephrology and Hypertension at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR. She is a physician scientist whose lab studies mechanisms of hypertension and diabetic kidney disease with a focus on the renin-angiotensin system. She is passionate about nephrology research, mentoring, and exploring the Pacific Northwest!
Richard Knight @knightra
Richard A. Knight is an Instructor in Management and Business Policy at the College of Business at Bowie State University. He is a former hemodialysis patient who received a kidney transplant approximately 14 years ago. He is President of the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP), a member of the NIDDK Board of Advisors, Co-Chair of the Community Engagement Committee on the Kidney Precision Medicine Project, Co-Chair of the Patient Engagement Subgroup for NIDDK’s Strategic Plan, and a member of the Scientific Registry for Transplant Recipients Review Committee.
Kimberly D. Manning @gradydoctor
Kimberly D. Manning is Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and spends her time teaching learners and caring for patients on the wards and in clinics at Grady Hospital. She’s passionate about medical education, diversity, and humanism—all of which she champions in her leadership roles (and on #medtwitter!)
Roslyn Mannon @mannonmom
Roslyn Mannon is Professor of Medicine, Pathology, and Microbiology, Vice Chair of Academic Development and Research Mentoring, and Associate Chief of Nephrology for Research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is a translational investigator in kidney transplantation and has authored over 200 manuscripts on late allograft failure and complications following kidney transplantation. Dr. Mannon is a Deputy Editor of the American Journal of Transplantation, Chair of the ASN Policy and Advocacy Advisory Committee, and co-chair of Women in Transplantation, an initiative of the Transplant Society. She is a past president of the American Society of Transplantation and a Blue Devil for life!
Cynthia Miracle @CMiracleMD
Cynthia M. Miracle is Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of California, San Diego, and a Staff Physician at the VA San Diego. She has been the Program Director for the UCSD Nephrology Fellowship Program since 2014 and Director of the VA San Diego Renal Clinics since 2008. Dr Miracle is active in medical education at a local and national level and is a co-founder of Nephrology Business Leadership (NBLU).
Vandana Niyyar @vandyniyyar
Vandana Dua Niyyar is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology at Emory University. Her main clinical interests are in ESKD, with specific expertise in vascular access and ultrasonography. She is passionate about promoting multidisciplinary collaboration in the field of vascular access in order to optimize access care and processes for dialysis patients. Dr. Niyyar is President-Elect of the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (ASDIN).
Paul Palevsky @PaulPalevsky
Paul M. Palevsky is Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Chief of Kidney Medicine at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. His research has focused on critical care nephrology and acute kidney injury and he has served as a member of study leadership of multiple clinical trials including the VA/NIH Acute Renal Failure Trial Network (ATN), VA NEPHRON-D, PRESERVE, EUPHRATES, and STARRT-AKI. He is a past deputy editor of both CJASN and JASN and is currently the President of the National Kidney Foundation.

Cathy Quinlan is an academic paediatric nephrologist, enthusiastic educator, and leader in renal genetics. She works in Melbourne, Australia, where she leads research into genetic kidney disease including disease modeling, implementation of genomics, data science, patient engagement, health economics, and clinical trials. She contributes to NSMC, NephSim, Don’t Forget the Bubbles, and NephJC. Follow her on Twitter where she tweets about nephrology, genetics, and intersectional feminism.

Mayuri Trivedi is Assistant Professor and In-charge (Nephrology Services) in the Department of Medicine, Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and Hospital in Mumbai. She is a consultant nephrologist and a renal transplant physician with a special interest in glomerular diseases and critical care nephrology. She is an editorial board member of Kidney News and the social media team of the ISN Education Academy. Besides her passion for all things nephrology she is also a self-confessed ‘fountain pen’ enthusiast and a bibliophile!
